To export, import or transport waste through an EU member state, you must comply with European regulations on the transport of waste. These regulations are described in the European Waste Shipment Regulation (EVOA). This Regulation also applies if you want to ship waste to other parts of the world, or bring or transit waste into the EU from other parts of the world.

In addition, each EU member state has its own national laws and regulations and associated registration and licensing systems.
